Author Biography

Joseph Tharamangalam, Mount Saint Vincent University

Joseph Tharamangalam is Associate Professor of Sociology at Mount St. Vincent University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. He received an M.A. from Delhi University and Ph.D. in Sociology from York University (1977). His research has been in the area of agrarian structure and struggles in India. His publications include Agrarian Class Struggle (1981) and articles in the Bulletin of Concerned Asian Scholars, the Journal of Contemporary Asia and the Journal of Peasant Studies. He is also a member of the editorial Board of the Bulletin of Concerned Asian Scholars.
