Extra-Marital Mating Patterns in Caribbean Family Studies: A Methodological Excursus
Abstract
Ce texte traité de deux problèmes repose sur des recherches socio-anthropologiques dans les Caraïbes. D'abord, il a rencontré en doute certains postulats qui ont conduit à des conclusions sur les "causes" de formes maritales trouvées dans certains secteurs de la société caraïbe. Dans ces conclusions on assume que les autres segments de la société ont d'autres formes maritales sans avoir vraiment vérifié cette hypothèse. En second lieu, le texte conteste les méthodes de recherche utilisées : on devrait utiliser davantage du matériel d'archives.
