Métaux, chefs et forgerons chez les Rukuba (Benue-Plateau State, Nigeria)

Authors

Abstract

This article presents a description of metal technology among the Rukuba and an analysis of the position occupied by the blacksmith in their social organisation. The blacksmiths in Africa have differing status in different tribes and various authors have offered some explanations of these variations. The ambiguous place of the blacksmiths among the Rukuba might shed some light on the comparative study of their situation.
